I finally got round to doing what I've been talking about doing for years now
- I moved to New York City! With the exception of the 100 degree summer heat,
I'm loving it here so far. My new recording studio will be based in Brooklyn
and construction is underway, should be completed by Aug-Sep and ready for business.
At 1500 sq ft, it's a lot bigger than my old studio, and is located in a great
old concrete warehouse in Greenpoint with views of the Manhattan skyline. I
have a lot of new equipment too, including a vintage Amek console with full
automation, and a brand new Pro Tools HD system. More on the studio coming soon!
Upcoming projects in the new studio include records for Encrypt
Manuscript and The
AKA's.

Both records for Two Gallants
are done! The acoustic record "The Scenery Of Farewell" is out now
and the electric record "Two Gallants" is out in September, both on

Me In St Louis in London which will be out soon on Big
Scary Monsters records. I've also been keeping busy with a lot of mixing
projects, including records for A
For Attack, Who
Rides The Tiger, Modwheel
Mood, and the new Taint
record "Secrets And Lies" (Rise
Above Records).

Mixed the new Piebald record
"Accidental Gentlemen" for Side
One Dummy. 13 wry and
catchy tracks with the famous Piebald humor. As I mixed, they fixed up their
tour van to
run on vegetable oil!
Spent some time at my favorite studio in San Francisco, Tiny
Telephone, to work on mixes
with Two Gallants. They
are an amazingly talented band and I'm looking forward to working
on their new full length in January.
Wrapping up tracking for The
Locust's new record. This is definitely their best material ever,
and a great progression for them with creative arrangements and more emphasis
on
vocals this time.. it's turning out really well so far.
I'm off to Tokyo for a few weeks to mix the new Polysics
album for Sony Music, then
mixing The Locust record for a March release date on
Anti.
